Victorians affected by the extensive flooding that has claimed at least one life, left many homeless and 8800 properties without power will get immediate federal government support as the crisis deepens.

The floods have closed down many businesses and flooded large swaths of agricultural land in a development that is expected to push up surging food and grocery prices further.
