For Jamala Wildlife Lodge’s Amanda Mead, finding the right staff is like searching for an endangered species.

“We’ve had a few occasions where [prospective] staff would come in to interview us because they had several other job options to go to,” said Mrs Mead, who is general manager of the lodge at Canberra’s National Zoo and Aquarium.
