Recession talk is premature

The major parties are jostling to be perceived as the best placed to manage the international economic turmoil. Australia needs cool heads to prevail.

As Australians fret about the falling value of their superannuation balances and stock portfolios, they should worry less over the talk in the election campaign about a recession hitting our shores.
