Productivity problem empowers populist right

We had better get our act together in Australia or we may court the kind of poisonous politics wreaking havoc in the United States and Europe.

What do housing, childcare, infrastructure projects, green energy, and technological adoption all have in common? We’ve made it slow and expensive to create supply.

As anyone who’s taken a basic economics course knows, that means as demand in these sectors grows, so do prices – sometimes rapidly.
