NSW could face $11b budget hit over transport entity controversy
The NSW government faces a possible $11 billion hit to its budget bottom line over the next decade after transport bureaucrats gave evidence at a State Parliament inquiry that “quite alarmed” the Auditor-General.
A parliamentary committee heard government officials were yet to sign off on a $5.2 billion deal to prop up the controversial Transport Asset Holding Entity, which is already getting $680 million per year in access fees from the government.
