Letters: High earner tax cuts needed
Stronger economy in absence of cuts; Tax promise made under duress; Tainted green push puts CEFC offside; Out-of-step ideologue has no place in charge.
I recently saw on Twitter a tweet by a surgeon offering that the government could take his tax cut for other more virtuous spending as “he was doing all right”. With average salaries for surgeons at around half a million dollars a year, I was rather unsurprised that the tweeting surgeon was doing all right.
But that’s where the problem lies with proposals to abandon or shave the government’s previous promise to reduce the highest income bracket.
