Labor warns Musk not to meddle in election

Labor minister Andrew Leigh has warned Elon Musk not to interfere in the federal election, as US digital giants lobby Donald Trump to pressure Australia to water down the Albanese government’s crackdowns on big tech and multinational tax.

Technology entrepreneurs, farmers, pharmaceutical giants and other groups representing American businesses have formally complained to the US Trade Representative (USTR) about their gripes with Australia on cross-border trade, investment and other regulations.
