Labor is failing to learn the lessons of rigid France

The French same work, same pay system promises equality – at the cost of a huge cohort of people left outside the labour market.

Australia and France have interests in common as China expands into the Pacific.

France is the main European military power, with nuclear weapons and a large defence industry, and it has territories in our region. Increased co-operation between us and France helps to improve long-term security.
