Australia's property bubble, corporate tax levels, and the Turnbull government's talent-hindering crackdown on 457 visas have been identified as major barriers for US direct investors trying to lure workers to Australia.

The warning, in a report by the Sydney-based US Studies Centre to be launched by Treasurer Scott Morrison on Monday, shows two-way investment between the US and Australia is more than $1.47 trillion – 10 times more than Chinese investment in Australia.
