The economy has posted annual growth of 1.7 per cent, up from a revised 1.6 per cent according to numbers out on Wednesday.
The lift in growth supports the Reserve Bank's assessment that the economy has passed a “gentle turning point" and that a further 0.25 percentage point interest rate cut was not yet warranted.
