Cost pressures challenge supermarkets, insurers

Some of Australia’s biggest businesses, from supermarkets to insurance, are seeing cost pressures creep in, raising the prospect of higher consumer prices in the next year.

The theme is not universal, with some businesses, such as pizza giant Domino’s, not suffering an input crunch, nor envisioning retail price rises soon. Other businesses might look to take costs out elsewhere to avoid raising prices.
