Chalmers reveals another tax revenue upgrade

Next month’s mid-year budget update will paint a healthier-than-expected picture of the government’s finances due to a continued rise in the tax take, Treasurer Jim Chalmers has flagged, as the opposition accused Labor of driving up taxes.
But any upgrades are expected to be a “sliver” of the $80 billion average improvement in revenue seen across the last four budgets and mid-year updates, due to lower iron ore prices.
