CFMEU 'blackmail' only threat in retrospect, Boral executives admitted

Boral executives involved in the collapsed criminal case against the Construction, Forestry, Mining and Energy Union Victorian leader John Setka conceded they did not view his alleged boycott statements as threats at the time, and that nobody mentioned his behaviour might be blackmail until 15 months later.

Melbourne Magistrate Court records show how a now infamous coffee shop meeting at the North Melbourne's Auction Rooms cafe in April 2013 remains controversial, as prosecutors withdrew charges this week following evidence given by Boral executives Paul Dalton and Peter Head.
