Coles CEO warns Canberra on profit blame game

Coles CEO Leah Weckert has accused Canberra of “apportioning blame” for the cost-of-living crisis on to the supermarket giants, saying big businesses need to be profitable if they are going to continue hiring hundreds of thousands of Australians.

She said government, business and the not-for-profit sector needed to work together to improve productivity, which in turn would improve food inflation.
