Broad tax reform! That’s the issue readers of The Australian Financial Review say should be top of the list at the government’s productivity summit in August. There’s an issue though, almost half of those surveyed are sceptical that the summit will achieve anything.

The re-elected Albanese government called a summit to green-light a new economic agenda, but immediately ruled out changes to industrial relations laws. Instead, it will host business, union and civic leaders, who have warned the government they expect to be listened to at the event.
