Two-and-a-half years ago, the National Farmers’ Federation helped whip up national sympathy for its industry over a fairly routine drought in NSW and Queensland.

Subsidies and gifts flowed to farmers, who experienced some of the most profitable years in Australian agricultural history after the drought broke late in the summer of 2019-20.
