Same-sex marriage should be legal by Christmas after 61.6 per cent of Australians voted Yes in the historic voluntary postal survey.
The Australian Bureau of Statistics, which conducted the survey, announced on Wednesday that 61.6 per cent voted Yes and 38.4 per cent voted No.
