Flight software takes off
Julian Bajkowski
Specialist systems developer Adacel Technologies hopes the aeronautical and air-traffic control (ATC) simulation software market will provide it with continued growth in 2010. The company recorded a threefold rise in net profit for financial year 2009 to $6.8 million. Adacel's share price has risen by about 65 per cent this year and the company hopes to gain more work providing upgrades to ageing ATC systems in non-Western economies as well as conventional military markets through partnerships with aviation veterans including Lockheed Martin. This strong result caused Adacel shares to climb to about 78¢ early this month, but the stock has since fallen marginally. The company is negotiating contracts in Saudi Arabia and India that could attract interest from investors in the small cap, which is yet to attract much coverage from market analysts. Close: $0.66
