US shares fell sharply as Iran launched an attack across Israel, with explosions in Tel Aviv and investors were wary of being caught going into the weekend.
At 4pm in New York, the Dow was 1.8 per cent lower, the S&P 500 was 1.1 per cent lower and the Nasdaq Composite was 1.3 per cent. Each slightly pared losses in the final minutes of the session.
