I’ve always approached investing with the belief that politics rarely matter for markets – unless they have a sustained economic impact. More often than not, they don’t.

But with US President-elect Donald Trump set to return to office with a clear mandate to govern, this political shift may carry more significance for markets than it did in his first term.
