Telstra chair Catherine Livingstone says her departure will help the company hit a 'reset point' as it prepares to place bigger bets on technology ventures and overseas markets.

Ms Livingstone on Wednesday announced she would stand down from the helm of Australia's biggest phone company after seven years in the top job and 15 years on the board.
