Stocks set for weak start as US election dominates

Investors tempted to take advantage of market weakness and jitters ahead of Wednesday's US election could look at small and mid-cap stocks that have proven they can weather political instability.
In the past month, the S&P/ASX 200 Index has fallen 5.2 per cent, while Wall Street has fallen nine days in a row, its biggest losing streak since 1980.
