NIB won't have a clear view on compensation until June

NIB chief executive Mark Fitzgibbon acknowledged a desire from the firm's policyholders to receive compensation for paying membership fees while in lockdown due to the COVID-19 pandemic but refrained from committing to a firm course of action.

"There has been some loss of cover” for policyholders unable to access a dentist or doctor, Mr Fitzgibbon said at the annual Macquarie Australia Conference but he was unable to reassure members that they would be getting funds any time soon.
