A growing chorus of economists signalling central banks will bring forward the first rate hikes of this economic cycle sparked a sell-off in global equity markets, and there could be more damage this week as the roster of Fed speakers assemble to speak their minds.
Triggering investor panic were comments made by the typically dovish St Louis Federal Reserve president James Bullard, who predicted US interest rates would rise by the end of 2022.
