Here’s the ‘sweet spot’ of the ASX that most investors overlook

Arian NeironContributorAustralian equity investors have been missing an opportunity right before their eyes. Overlooked and underappreciated, the benchmark S&P/ASX MidCap 50 Index has been heralded as the sweet spot of the local equity universe.
Even S&P Dow Jones indices, the index provider of the more recognised S&P/ASX 200 and Small Ordinaries benchmarks, has said that Australia’s mid-cap segment had a more diverse sector representation than the country’s large-cap and broad-market benchmarks which are dominated by the banks.
