Natalie James is a rarity among public service leaders in that she maintains a strong social media presence even after jumping ship from the partnership of big four consultant Deloitte to take up the role of “post-Elizabethan secretary” – as she describes it on her LinkedIn profile – at the Department of Employment and Workplace Relations.
James′ willingness to show personality on social media also extends to Canberra’s corridors of power, where she has not been afraid to show up some of the bubble’s conservative practices as she implements Labor’s massive overhaul of the industrial relations system.
