Policy proposals emanating from the two-day jobs and skills summit will be incorporated in the October budget, or taken to the next election, with or without the unanimous support of the participants, Treasurer Jim Chalmers says.
Declaring a general consensus would be sufficient endorsement of any idea for it to be adopted, the treasurer also brushed aside a threatened boycott of the summit by Opposition Leader Peter Dutton, saying while his participation was preferable, it was not necessary.
