About 20 life insurance and reinsurance firms have established a new lobby group, splintering from their longstanding representation by the Financial Services Council ahead of the re-opening of political debate about commissions paid to financial advisers.
The Council of Australian Life Insurers (CALI) will launch later this year and is in the process of hiring a chief executive and permanent staff to head up the industry’s relations with the Albanese government.
