Pentecostal Christianity in its modern form began at the turn of the 20th century in Los Angeles. More than a quarter of the world’s 2 billion Christians are Pentecostalists, up from 6 per cent in 1980. It’s predicted that by 2050, one in 10 people globally will be adherents.
