For Jane Carroll, moving overseas to work was a rite of passage that was always part of her plan.

“I watched other people go overseas and I thought: ‘Once I’m a chartered accountant, I’d love to go live and work overseas.’ I’d worked from such a young age – I started at [accounting firm] BDO when I was 18 – so I wanted to have a bit of fun once I was done with my qualification. I wanted to travel, to meet people, to do the young Aussie thing in London,” the 25-year-old says.
