Mainstream news outlets, blogs and podcasts are the information sources most relied on by the new generation of investors, according to research by fintech Superhero, busting the myth that Millennial traders are largely directed by social media influencers and forums.
A survey of 1395 users of the Superhero trading platform – 75 per cent of whom were aged between 25 and 45 – found that with 63 per cent of the cohort, or 886 votes, online news was the most popular medium through which respondents “learn about investing”.
