Another week of lockdown for Melbourne

Melbourne’s lockdown has been extended for another week after health authorities called for more time to suppress the highly infectious Kappa (Indian) variant, as the state recorded six more new cases, bringing the outbreak to 60.
The lockdown for regional Victoria will end on Thursday night but restrictions will remain including limits on travel to Melbourne and local business will be required to check addresses to ensure customers are locals.
