How the pandemic has begun teaching us Greek

The pandemic continues to educate us. Before it began, most people didn’t know what epidemiologists did for a living, hadn’t heard of “flattening the curve” or the phrase “social distancing”. Now, anyone who doesn’t know the Greek alphabet is about to learn it.
The World Health Organisation is using this alphabet to name new variants of the virus that cause COVID-19.
