Washington | Having put the US economy into an induced coma to save lives, President Donald Trump says he wants it reopened by Easter lest the business and consumer slump result in even more deaths.

In an extraordinary move that put a hard date on when the President expects America to get back to work, Mr Trump indicated he would soon begin ordering a wind-down of social distancing guidelines.
