It will be the battle of the Blackmans as Sotheby’s unveils a million-dollar picture to go head-to-head at auction with an even pricier work by the revered artist at rival auction house Deutscher and Hackett.

Charles Blackman – famous for his “schoolgirl” and “Alice in Wonderland” series of works – died in August last year aged 90.
