The drug regulator has approved the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine for use in Australia, giving the green light for injections for millions of Australians from next week.

Monday’s provisional approval for adults over 18 will see the Oxford University-developed drug administered in two doses, four to 12 weeks apart. The drug is recommended for adults over 65, with high efficacy in preventing serious illness and death.
