Marion Hume and Dion Lee have been chatting over cups of tea ever since he burst onto the Australian fashion scene in the late 2000s. That's meant cuppas in Sydney, Paris and, most recently, London. The talk has spanned everything from the downside of Lee's meteoric rise, to the sale of a stake in his label to Cue, to his decision to manufacture in Italy and the US as well as at home. The next strong brew will likely be in New York, where the ambitious designer moved earlier this year.
M.H: I’m flashing back to that first cup of tea at your Sydney studio. My main impression was that you were very determined. How old were you?
