The songstress and her fiancé, Orlando Bloom, joined the maiden voyage of Norwegian Prima. The ship has many other attractions, too.

Norwegian Prima is the first of six new vessels commissioned by the Norwegian Cruise Line company.

Call it extra special godmother fairy dust. For decades, cruise ship godmothers have been a pretty impressive bunch – including the late Queen Elizabeth II; Sophia Loren; Jennifer Lopez and Catherine Deneuve – and the list goes on.

But not all of them can sing and dance on board no less. Hence, when Norwegian Cruise Line announced their new-build $US 1 billion ($1.5 billion) ship Norwegian Prima would feature godmother Katy Perry performing during the inaugural cruise, berths were snapped up fast.
