Why calorie counting doesn’t work

If you eat fewer calories than you burn, surely you will lose weight? The truth is that it’s a waste of time – and sets people up for failure.

If you’re planning to try a diet reliant on counting and reducing calories, I have a tip for you: don’t waste your time and money.

You might lose weight initially, but as time goes on, sticking to a reduced calorie intake becomes harder and harder. Eventually, almost everyone ends up back at their starting weight or, even worse, they overshoot and are heavier than when they began.
