From parliamentary portraits to CEO appointments, a new exhibition charts the runaway success of this style icon. From the upcoming annual Fashion issue, out on August 26.
There was a moment on the night of the recent federal election when Nine reporter Chris Uhlmann said: “Hands up everyone who’s wearing Carla Zampatti.” Julie Bishop, who’d just made a comment about incoming MP Allegra Spender being Zampatti’s daughter, raised hers, as did Uhlmann’s co-host Alicia Loxley and Labor’s Kate Ellis. Liberal MP Jane Hume said: “I’ve actually boycotted Carla Zampatti throughout this entire campaign.”
