Imagine if someone told you the most wanted, of-the-moment coat for winter 2022 was made from recycled Coke bottles, shaped like a gargantuan tent with sleeves, emitted Yeti vibes, and was meant to be styled with nothing but a pair of Speedos and a set of pasty legs.

It’s an obsession that’s already gripped the UK and Ireland and is now taking hold in affluent Australian beachside suburbs such as Sydney’s Mosman, Manly and Bronte as well as the “Iceberg Clubs” of Port Phillip Bay. Anywhere, basically, that hardy swimmers happily and willingly freeze their arses off in the frigid waters of the ocean during winter, temperatures of which are hovering around 10 degrees as we type.
