″When you look at photos, there are jeans that definitely scream the decade,” says Paul O’Neill. “But if you look at the 501s … the ones made after the 1940s, they all look the same. They don’t change. And that’s what is magic about them. People will say, ‘Oh, I can’t believe I had that haircut’, but they’ll never say, ‘Oh, I can’t believe I wore those 501s’. They are a blank canvas.”
