Question | I struggle with being more casual in the workplace. I’m an older male and when I started in my career, it was suits, five days a week. Having flair and showing one’s personality through clothing was not encouraged. I recall once wearing a patterned, salmon-coloured tie to a meeting and being excoriated for it. I never did it again! So you can imagine I am a bit hopeless in this new work world of jeans and T-shirts. I do wear denim on weekends (I prefer chinos), but Monday to Friday, I feel more at home in professional clothing – so far, anyway. Can I bridge the gap without looking like mutton dressed as lamb? – Denim Don’t
