This week should have been among the most important in the history of Aston Martin. The venerable British carmaker was due to officially launch its long-awaited DBX model.

The DBX, a twin turbo V8-powered SUV, was tipped to be Aston Martin’s biggest seller. It needed to be its biggest seller too, and quickly. Even before the world ran into a problem with a bat (or perhaps a pangolin), the company was on the brink and desperately needed revenue.
