She was arguably the most famous Australian woman of all time, but Olivia Newton-John – who died on Monday in the US aged 73 – has been remembered as much for what she was outside of show business.
Newton-John sold more than 100 million albums, her leather-clad turn opposite John Travolta in 1978 movie Grease made her a global fashion icon, and her name will live on in Melbourne in the form of the Olivia Newton-John Cancer Wellness & Research Centre, whose fundraising she spearheaded from 2011.
