Elisa Jane Carmichael was “completely amazed” when she learnt last week that the British Museum had acquired six of her woven works for its collection.

But others are less surprised that the Quandamooka woman and finalist in the 2021 Telstra National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Art Awards (NATSIAA) is gaining recognition overseas.
