Sacked orchestra chief may have to pay pianist $18k

Pianist Jayson Gillham is individually suing Melbourne Symphony’s former boss, and its current chief operating officer, as part of his discrimination suit against the orchestra.

Gillham names Sophie Galaise, the MSO managing director spectacularly sacked on August 26, and its incumbent COO Guy Ross as respondents alongside the orchestra in the suit, filed with the Federal Court on Thursday.
