Melbourne Symphony sued in battle of ‘brand v human rights’

A Federal Court stoush between pianist Jayson Gillham and Melbourne Symphony Orchestra is set to test whether anti-discrimination laws can override the ‘morals clauses’ now found in most employment contracts.
Gillham launched action on Thursday to sue MSO, alleging he was discriminated against for making onstage remarks about the Gaza war at a recital on August 11.
