Australian art collector John Kaldor, who has given millions of dollars worth of art to public institutions, this week sold one of his earliest art purchases for a handsome sum, with more of his personal collection going on the auction block tonight.
Roy Lichtenstein’s Peanut Butter Cup, 1962, fetched £1,019,000 ($2,085,000, including buyer’s premium) in Sotheby’s Modern and Contemporary Evening Auction held live in London on March 4.
