Over the decades, it's provided the backdrop for the hit Australian film Tracks (2013) among other movies and the Qantas I Still Call Australia Home ad campaign (1999), and comprised a natural stage for rock bands of the ilk of Icehouse and Midnight Oil to play, not forgetting appearing on the front of a Stravinsky album cover, which inspired a then 12-year-old David Bowie to one day travel to Australia's outback.

In short, Uluru – which attracts 367,000 visitors each year, contributing $408 million to the national economy despite its remoteness – is no stranger to arts and culture, not to mention many a royal tour.
